March Member of the Month - Scott!

Our March Member of the Month, Scott, has been with us for almost two years and is a consistent member of the Recharge classes Tuesday and Thursday night.  

CFTC: How were you referred to CFTC / what motivated you to join? 

Scott: I had worked out with a CrossFit box in the past and after surgery on my shoulder had to take a break, but always knew I wanted to get back into it because I found that it had worked the best for constant improvements, the many challenging aspects to work on and that "bring you back" factor. It also reminded me from a physical aspect the closest I can get to what it was like to workout everyday in the 82nd Airborne. I live close by and just drove in one day because I knew from the vinyl banner where CFTC was.   

CFTC: What accomplishment are you most proud of and why? 

Scott: Sticking with it, just by showing up and getting after it. I feel like I’m getting a victory. I would like to add, anytime I add a little more weight to an exercise and the fact too, I’ve dropped 25lbs since April 2018, which a huge part of that is from CrossFit. 

CFTC:  What do you spend the majority of your time doing outside of the gym? 

Scott: A majority of my time outside the gym is spent on work or small house projects or my favorite, walking my chocolate lab, Miles.

CFTC: Who has played a key role in helping you develop a new skill or has pushed you or challenged you during a WOD? 

Scott:  I would say  Jill has been a key to helping push me and challenging me during the WODs. The class environment has also been very helpful for the extra motivation to take it up a notch.

CFTC: What movement are you most looking forward to improving? 

Scott: I’m most looking forward to probably way down the road to getting my first muscle up. A second goal I’d like to get is to perform proper squats as part of my exercise rotation, some limitations stop that for the moment.
