January Member of the Month - Tiffany!

Congratulations to Tiffany Millacci for being our first Member of the Month of 2019!  Tiffany is a staple in the morning classes and is always posting some of the top scores from our box, though remains incredibly humble!  We love having her as a part of the CFTC family!

CFTC - How were you referred to CFTC / what motivated you to join?

Tiffany - This is a funny story actually! I’m not entirely sure how it worked out but after I learned that the Army would be moving us to Cedar Rapids, I interviewed for a teaching position and soon after this interview I was contacted by Coach Andy. There may have been a bit of Facebook stalking or Googling by someone on the interview committee- I’m not sure! Having done Crossfit for about 5 years, I was ecstatic to be able to continue cross-fitting in Iowa! I had planned to just drop by to check it out but then also check out a few more gyms in the area. I didn’t make it to any other gym and fell in love with Crossfit the Challenge the moment I stepped in!

CFTC -  What accomplishment are you most proud of and why?

Tiffany - I am most proud of the relationships that I’ve created through Crossfit. I am a quieter person so I’ve really appreciated the friendships that have developed because of Crossfit.

CFTC - What do you spend the majority of your time doing outside of the gym?

Tiffany -  The majority of my time outside the gym is spent teaching, spending time with my husband, and taking classes. Visiting family when we are able is also a highlight!

CFTC - Who has played a key role in helping you develop a new skill or has pushed you or challenged you during a WOD?

Tiffany - Every single person at CFTC has influenced me and motivates me to do my best. From the athletes that post on SugarWod, to the members in the morning class that I attend, to the coaches! Working out next to such talented athletes pushes me to keep going because I know they are suffering just as much as I am. I have also really appreciated the accountability the coaches have placed on me, especially when I haven’t been consistent in attending class!

CFTC -  What movement are you most looking forward to improving?

Tiffany - There are so many things! That’s the beauty of Crossfit - there is always something to improve on and the satisfaction you get with every little improvement is addictive! Push ups are something I seem to struggle with but I would also like to get muscle ups back again.
